Email Marketing Tools - Self hosted or Third Party

------------------------------------------

You have a website. You have a squeeze page. People are even opting in...in other words you are building a list! Fantastic! You've got a start-you have a couple key internet marketing tools working for you... where do you go from here?

Get an auto responder system!
What's an auto responder system? In short, it is a system that allows you to keep in contact with your list! The system send emails to your subscribers-the folks who have opted in to your squeeze page. You write the email one time and it goes out to dozens, hundreds, even thousands of people. This is one of the internet marketing tools that will save you lots of time!

Used correctly, a good auto responder will be one of your most important internet marketing tools. It will work for you 24/7 365 days a year.

Auto responder systems fall into two categories:
- Self Hosted
- 3rd Party Services

Self hosted auto responders are systems that you host on your own website. You get the software and install it on your website. An example of this sort of service is Auto Response Plus.

3rd party auto responder services on the other hand are hosted elsewhere. Aweber is an example of this type of system.

Of these internet marketing tools which is the better route?
I strongly encourage you to use a 3rd party auto responder service - and here's why.

One of the biggest issues internet marketers face today is spam complaints...to minimize these complaints you want to be sure you are using a double optin system.

A good 3rd party auto responder service will encourage or even require that you use a double opt in system. Because of this, they have a good reputation with the ISPs (Internet Service Providers) and more of your emails will get where they are intended! An email does you no good if it is blocked because the ISP thinks you are sending spam!

If you decide to self-host your auto responders and you run into any spam complaints you will be spending your valuable time contacting the various ISPs, proving that you aren't spamming, getting yourself unblocked, etc.

3rd party auto responder services work hard to keep their systems with high deliverability-getting emails you send to your subscriber's inbox!

To do this, they do have rules that they enforce, but really that's true for other internet marketing tools-whether you are looking at creating videos or building your website...you have certain rules you have to learn and abide by in order to have a successful outcome.

Once you have your 3rd party auto responder and you connect it to your squeeze page and website. Your next step is to put these internet marketing tools to work sending out emails to those subscribers!
